When Dna Is Replicated, How Many Of The Strands Are Old? ______ How Many Are New? ______

When DNA is replicated, how many of the strands are old? ______ How many are new? ______

DNA Replication occurs through semi-conservative model.

According to this model, strands of a DNA uncoils during replication. Each half strands synthesizes new one to form two DNA.

Hence, half of the strands of total replicated DNA will be old and other half new.

When one DNA replicates:

▪ Two strands are new

▪Two strands are old.
